The Lowdown:
This plugin was first reviewed in Episode 53 on Dec 15, 2011 here http://wppluginsatoz.com/wordpress-plugins-from-a-to-z-episode-53-podcasting-plugins-and-more/ so its time to re-review it and create a training video about it which can be found here. Orig rating of 4 Dragons
This plugin has changed allot over the past 6 years and it time to showcase some of the improvements they have made as well as how to get it fully set up or in my case make use of the updates that have been ignored.
Especially with the advance of now having Google play as a place to showcase your podcast. If you are a podcaster and looking to switch they even have a migration tool available. If your new to podcasting use this plugin as it provides everything you need. If you like me have been using this awhile and simply been doing the updates over time. Then you need to review all the settings on it.
All in all this plugin provides a great experience for both you and your listeners when visiting your website. Plus they make it easy to showcase your podcast inn Google Play and iTunes.

WP Database Backup

The Lowdown:
I had the necessity last week to heave to retrieve a website for a host of ill-repute for a client. It seems the provider would not give them cpanel access and was generally making thier life difficult for the the things they needed to accomplish on their growing website. We fortunately had one main thing FTP access to the website although limited to the WordPress directory but that was enough With my script that inserts Admin accounts into a WordPress website and some creative ingenuity we were able to obtain their website.
The biggest problem was the server they were has very limited resources and we needed to get the database out. Many plugins for DB back up do an all or nothing grab. The great thing about this plugin is that is allowed mr to choose which tables to grab. Due to the size of some of the table I could not grab it all at once since it kept going incomplete due to resource limitation mentioned.
By being able to pull it in pieces I was able to get all the tables and reassemble it on to the new hosting at JohnOverall.com hosting.
A great plguin that works very well also offers the ability to backup database to multiple offsite sources notifications when complete, ability to do a restore althoug I did not test that function. all in all a great plugin helped save the day

Amazon Auto Links – Amazon Associates Affiliate Plugin

The Lowdown:
It seems I have to make another forrary into the world of affiliate links again at least for a brief time and am choosing to use this plugin in that aid. It has a pretty staright forward connection to Amazon using thier product API. You can choose from 12 of thier server locals for your website including Canada, French and the UK. You can whitelist and blacklist items. It has a product cache to help with your site loading time. and more all in all a pretty good plugin for my trin into the abyss once more.

By using a 3rd party countdown timer inside your email you are compromising your email credibility because all email service provider(Gmail, Outlook, AOL) mark your email as spam if you use any link other than your domain.
