John’s Rant: What to rant about?
I want to go on a bit of a rant here today so from here to where I do the plugins this week feel free to use the fast forward button. I want to discuss some of the following things.
Grateful for the regular donation from Jeremy at Jezweb for his support of the show. and our paterons Robert, Jeremy, Mike, Charles, and to those who have made one time donations in the past.
Talk about the useless reviews that complain about us “begging for money and support” and hy we started doing it.
I have not heard in a while so I'll assume no one has any complaints about the sound quality anymore.
How can you our supporters help bot the show and website improve.
Realize that this sort of thing takes time to create every week, believe it or not a simple 30 min show consumes 3 to 10 hours of work.
Why I do this show and have been doing it for the pas 6 years.
Talk about why plans have gone off rails and how they are getting back. Mention personal life issues and how they are settling in.

The Lowdown:
This is another social share button plugin and there are allot of them so many such that when you do a search for the title of this one it does not show in the first couple pages of them in your WordPress dashboard. You have to search it by the author name of Rocketcloud to find it.
It has a good selection of the most used social networks, you need to select your icon choices and the set a colour for them. Then decide if you want to float them left or right or embed into the post top or bottom. All in all this is a pretty good social icon plugin which is quick and easy to use. It does have a couple limitations in that the icons are only small medium or large square. andd it does not work in at least one theme I had installed on my test site but that theme had its own icons. But if your using a theme without it should work fine.

The Lowdown:
This is a pretty extensive Top 10 posts plugin you can have it track overall top 10 or daily, it has its own built in cache to lower the load. The settings allow lots of control in either main settings or the widget itself. You can set to have images and or text or combination them. Stylize it and more. This is one of the best top posts plugin I have seen in a while.

Do you have a need to have a thumbs up/down buttons on your site? This plugin is something for you then pretty easy to use and setup and adds that little bit that everyone is hooked on now the ever present thumbs up and the added bonus of the thumbs down. If you go with the pro there are many options to the plugin and the pro version is only $15 check it out
