Johns Rant:

Its episode 461 it's been a quiet week here with little feedback from you the producers of the show. While slow weeks are bound to happen I need your support to keep this show going help keep the sword of Damocles from snapping the thread it is attached to, Keep the feedback coming….. This is #20 of 52 episodes for 2020..

As we are now 20 weeks into 2020 and 9 weeks into the Rona, life is starting to return in many places including here in BC where businesses opened this week including hair cutters so those that want one can get out and get one.

We are almost halfway into this year of insanity, the most I have seen in my lifetime. I had thought the SJW was the worst of things I would have to deal with but the “Karen's” have proved that one wrong.

These are indeed strange times to be alive and I am doing what i can to prepare my kids and grandkids for what is coming.
One of the best things you can do is relax take a breath, go for a walk, build a garden and realize things have changed nothing has changed you can save your sanity and your Amygdala and find out why your not gonna die by listening to the No Agenda Show

I do have more show spaces coming up for guest hosts, if you would like to join me as a guest host on the show please reach out to me at john@wppro.ca You can also go to https://wppluginsatoz.com/guesthost/

Today I have a Guest host who is an Honorable US Navy Vet from some of my home turf, San Diego, CA, and the developer of a couple of the great plugins we will be talking about today.

Joining me today is Marcus Boyd.

I have some news from the world of WordPress for you today as well as some great plugins.

Let's get to the fun we have today.

WordPress News and Info

Before we jump into the news, a quick question about WordPress.

WordPress has seen some boosts during the Rona Virus and I am wondering how many other CMS systems and quick builders have had a boost also. What will happen to the leader as they head down what I feel are crazy paths?

ClassicPress Options

ClassicPress is a fast growing fork of WordPress that is starting to come into its own. ClassicPress is focused on Business Websites, runs fast and is looking pretty good. There are a few plugins specifically for ClassicPress and all plugins for WordPress 4.9.9 work well on it. I do believe it has a future.

One thing I am looking forward to in the ClassicPress World is the expansion of the number of ClassicPress specific plugins and their own repository. Currently there are not a lot of ClassicPress specific plugins but I do know it is going to grow and I'll have to expand this segment then. Who knows, it could take over the whole show.

This week for ClassicPress I have:

The Lowdown:
While it is pretty easy to disable the xml-rpc with a small chunk of code in the wp-config file and ht access as below

Add to wp-config
add_filter(‘xmlrpc_enabled', ‘__return_false');

Add to htaccess
# Block WordPress xmlrpc.php requests
<Files xmlrpc.php>
order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from 123.123.123.123
</Files>

This plugin make that task allot easier for those who do not like messing with thier code in any way. Simple and efficent
