Let's dive right into the meat and potatoes. I have a great set of plugins for you today!

To start off I have a plugin that I have yet to use but thought you might want to know they exist. Keep in mind the ratings are based off the descriptions on their site and using their demo if available.

Zakeke

https://www.zakeke.com/

What they say:
Zakeke is a cloud-based plugin empowering online stores with real-time product customization and 3D product customization.
Zakeke allows your customers to quickly and easily customize products and preview them in 3D before making a purchase.
Having the ability to preview a design in 3D greatly enhances the shopping experience and gives potential customers the confidence to order without hesitation. Not only does this lead to higher conversions and revenue for your business, but also fewer returns and lower operating costs.

The Lowdown:
While it does not happen too often with the way themes are now, it is still an occasional occurrence. I recently had it happen on two new client sites I had acquired. This plugin allows you to go into the post/page list and change the order of appearance on a page or widget.

It is a drag and drop interface to move posts up and down the scale to determine how they appear in order on the front page.

The lowdown:
When you inherit an older WordPress website you may find a need to do some clean up of the database . You will want to accomplish this as quick as you can.

This plugin makes that an easy task to accomplish. It uses proper WP delete commands as much as possible instead of using MySQL Queries for clean up.
It cleans up the following areas and more:

  • Revisions
  • Auto drafts
  • Deleted comments
  • Unapproved comments
  • Spammed comments
  • Deleted comments
  • Orphaned post meta
  • Orphaned comment meta
  • Orphaned user meta
  • Orphaned term meta
  • Orphan term relationships

Can also be use with WP-CLI for those who like command line interface.

ClassicPress Options

Since the release of Gutenberg, and its fallout, ClassicPress has garnered a lot of attention. This is a fork of WordPress and is focused on Business Websites and is looking pretty good. It does seem in the past few months ClassicPress is coming into its own a bit and with some plugins now being created specifically for ClassicPress I do believe it has a future.

One thing I am looking forward to in the ClassicPress World is the expansion of the number of ClassicPress specific plugins and their own repository. Currently there are not a lot of ClassicPress specific plugins but I do know it is going to grow and I'll have to expand this segment then. Who knows, it could take over the whole show.

This week for ClassicPress I have:

General info
Had a sneak peek at CodePotent's new plugin hub for his ClassicPress Plugins this new system is pretty nice I do like the layout and functionality of it. It looks like it will make a great system for showcasing, sharing and selling plugins.

To find a listing of ClassicPress specific plugins check out this link https://forums.classicpress.net/t/plugins-built-specifically-for-classicpress/1011?u=codepotent there is currently 37 plugins here and growing. I look forward to the day they have their own repository. I can still recall WP when it had a small repository.
