Member Chimp is a complete solution to build an online community or membership site with powerful front-end and backend functionality, yet very easy to setup and use. Some of the plugin features include

  • Front-end user registration
  • Front-end user login
  • Front-end account dashboard
  • Front-end password recovery
  • Custom e-mail notifications
  • Custom user roles
  • Custom fields
  • Custom avatars and file uploads
  • Member directories
  • SEO friendly user profiles
  • Conditional nav menus
  • Drag and drop form builder
  • Show user posts and comments on user profiles
  • Developer friendly with hundreds of actions and filters

What I have to say:

This plugin was in the schedule to be reviewed today when i also saw his name popup in Twitter via @codepotent and received another email from him while prepping for the show. Things are interesting sometimes.

This does look like a pretty interesting new membership plugin and while I might have chosen it had I discovered it a few months back when I built out a Membership site. I am not about to make a major change in a good site at this moment.

It does have a few pro addons that look to be a benefit for an active community such as the notifications. You may want to have a look at this plugin if you are building out a membership site or upgrading one.

The Lowdown:

Looking for a quick and easy way to allow your site visitors or members to add content to your site. This plugin may be something your looking for then. It is a bit easier to use than Gravityforms but more limited in some ways. Content Audit

Requires: or higher
Compatible up to:
Released:01 January 1970
Last Updated:01 January 1970
(0 star out of 5)

The Lowdown:

This plugin let you start to run a manual audit of all your content. You can make content outdated, review for SEO, Outdated, redundant and style. You can add your own categories to make it more granular.

As you visit pages you mark them for further action. This keeps everything on your site instead of having to create a spreadsheet for all your posts.

Works great in ClassicPress

ClassicPress Options

ClassicPress is a fast growing fork of WordPress that is starting to come into its own. ClassicPress is focused on Business Websites runs fast and is looking pretty good. There are a few plugins specifically for ClassicPress and all plugins for WordPress 4.9.9 work well on it. I do believe it has a future.

One thing I am looking forward to in the ClassicPress World is the expansion of the number of ClassicPress specific plugins and their own repository. Currently there are not a lot of ClassicPress specific plugins but I do know it is going to grow and I'll have to expand this segment then. Who knows, it could take over the whole show.

This week for ClassicPress I have:

Listen to the Interview with James Nylen and Michelle Coe from ClassicPress Two of the Leads for the ClassicPress Team, Michelle Coe (lead designer), and James Nylen (lead developer) it is a great interview so follow the link to listen to it.

The ClassicPress Milestone v1.1.0 target date for release is Wednesday, July 24, 2019. We’ll be updating our GitHub milestone regularly as we prepare for the release – feel free to check in there or in the #core channel in Slack for updates.

CP Compatability

The Lowdown:

Under the Tools Menu you can click on the CP Plugin Compatability and get a list of known plugins that will not work in CP.

Marks plugins not compatible with WP version 4.9. Adds a menu that displays top 200 plugins from and their compatibility. Fixes some compatibility issues with Classicpress: at the moment: wp-cli core check-update, SEO by Rank Math.
