ClassicPress Options

ClassicPress is a fast growing fork of WordPress that is starting to come into its own. ClassicPress is focused on Business Websites runs fast and is looking pretty good. There are a few plugins specifically for ClassicPress and all plugins for WordPress 4.9.9 work well on it. I do believe it has a future.

One thing I am looking forward to in the ClassicPress World is the expansion of the number of ClassicPress specific plugins and their own repository. Currently there are not a lot of ClassicPress specific plugins but I do know it is going to grow and I'll have to expand this segment then. Who knows, it could take over the whole show.

This week for ClassicPress I have:

News:

From CodePotent, A few custom tweaks for the new ClassicPress Security page https://gist.github.com/johnalarcon/d6429389c5740320ec62c760b3ab13e3
head to the link and then copy past the info into your functions.php file.

General info:

The Lowdown:
This plugin help you keep a tighter lid on your security by doing some montoring of the major files, free space, what updates you need and you DB size. It also removes the junk files from your site such as olvasdel.html, readme.html, licens.txt, license.txt from the WordPress root directory files – if they exist.

It will send you an email notifying if the issues for you to take care of them.

The Lowdown:
This is a tool to recover the DB info for media, when you delete images it just removes the info from the DB not from the upload directory. You can use this tool to find those images and recover them back into your media library so you can easily reuse them in and new posts.

It seems to work pretty well although I am intrigues in how they work the plugin to promote their other work it caught me a little off guard. All in all not too bad.

The Lowdown:
This plugins was reviewed in Episode 264 and I did a training Video for it which is one of my most visited videos. I was recently asked for a referal for an appointments plugin so thiough I would revisit this one and see how it is now.

the good news is they have been keeping it up to date and now has a premiimum extension for it that will let you connect it to your Google calendar, paypal, twillo, WooCommerce and iCalendar.

It looks to still be quite good and I will be doing an updated training video for it.
