THEROLLINGSTONES.COM
The Rolling Stones (http://therollingstones.com) just went WordPress with their all new site relaunch in conjunction with their 50th anniversary tour. Very good looking site with a lot of classic stones iconography throughout the design and within page content.

Apollo Bar

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/apollo-bar/

Requires: 3.1 or higher
Compatible up to: 3.4.2
Last Updated: 2012-10-25

The Apollo Bar is a really simple announcements and notification plugin. Used with Custom Post Type to publish announcements and cycle plugin to rotate messages with fade animation. There is a very simple administrative interface. Can be switched off and on the Apollo Bar and author logo, or you can choose the 3 color scheme.

Marcus’ Take: This looked like a pretty good plugin on the surface, as I needed a good announcement bar to use. I found the options rather limiting and it didn’t do exactly as I asked when using shortcodes and embedded images in the post edit that was supposed to be my “announcement”. I thought this would be great for breaking affiliate item alerts, etc, but I’ll have to keep looking.

User Admin Simplifier

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-admin-simplifier/

Requires: 3.0.1 or higher
Compatible up to: 3.4.2
Last Updated: 2012-11-1
Downloads: 407

Lets any Administrator simplify the WordPress Admin interface, on a per-user basis, by turning specific menu sections off.

Marcus’ Take: It’s about time that we as developers and administrators have the option to define the specific roles of each user type. This plugin does just that, limiting what a user can and cannot see in the dashboard when they log in. The one thing I didnt find is the ability to limit someone to only specific categories and post types, which is what I really needed for a specific project.

Kitchenbug

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/kitchenbug/

Requires: 3.2.1 or higher
Compatible up to: 3.4.2
Last Updated: 2012-10-29

Kitchenbug is the ultimate tool for food bloggers, providing full recipe nutritional analysis, rich-snippets compliance, unit conversion and more.

Marcus’ Take: This plugin is great for anyone wanting to display recipes on their WP installation. It does US to Metric conversions, adjusts for the amount of servings based on user input, and can automatically calculate the nutritional value of each recipe. It also has an option to print and save the recipe for later. Quite a lot of features in this new plugin. Took one point away because of the signup to kitchenbug.com but all in all this is a really great plugin.
