We have a couple questions from David
First question image replacement plugin I would suggest using Enable Media Replace https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/enable-media-replace this plugin will replace a media wile with a new one. As for Caldera forms I have not used it yet but will put it in the cue to be reviewed.
Second question Custom Post types there is a way to do it and yes its a template and no there probably is not a plugin and will require some coding.

WPSiteSync

The Lowdown:
This a pretty great tool to help you make changes between your dev site and a live site. Setup is pretty easy you just have to remember to install and activate the plugin on both sites. Using it is pretty easy you connect up your sites and then you get the opportunity to either push or pull a post after it is published. It seems to work well even moving images.

WP Breathe by Joseph Fusco

https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-breathe/
As a developer, it can sometimes get confusing flipping back and forth between production and development sites. This plugin offers a gentle and anthropomorphic reminder that you are logged into a production site while still allowing unobstructive use.
