Pity it's so short…
… I could listen to this gold for hours! Marcus and John have a great rapport as they give reviews on 6 (or so) WordPress plugins each week. They make it very clear which are free and which have a premium version, so no nasty surprises when you decide to try them out. This is one of my “must listen to on day of release” podcasts. Great listening on my morning faux-commute (a morning walk). Excellent stuff from two real WordPress experts.

Great Way to Learn About Plugins
The best! I've been a faithful listener for several years. This podcast tells me about plugins but it also explains why a plugin is great or not so great.
We have more to come in future episode s now that I have found an easy method to access all reviews from across the globe.

Nav Menu Roles

The Lowdown:
We just love the simple plugins that do something so well you don't even have to really think about it. This is one of those lazy plugins we enjoy. Simply install activate then go to your menus and select the ones you want to restrict and it is done.

DCG Display Plugin Data (from wordpress.org)

The Lowdown:
This is another great lazy plugin it is so much better than the plugins I have tried in the past to display the live data about plugins from WordPress.org. Simply install and insert the short code and tada you have all the data, one thing to keep in mind in case you have not already seen it is to remember to only insert short codes in txt mode otherwise you get broken css.

User Role Widget Areas

The Lowdown:
This plugin allow you to place widgets into a specialized widget area which you can the add to sidebars to be able to display the widgets depending on the rols of the visitor to the website. I found this paticuralry useful when wanting to display a logout box on an intranet site only when people where logged in vs when they hit the intranet site from an opened IP which would allow them to see the site but not be logged in. All in all it worked opretty well and has some other great uses for showing specific widgets to specific typoes of uses if your site has multiple levels of users.
Rating 5 Dragons.

Show Featured Image Size in Admin TopBar

This plugin displays the image size for the featured image in the admin top bar. We find this very handy, because you don't have to look up the default size of the featured image each time you publish a post.

WP-MQTT connects WordPress to the Internet of Things. Use this plugin to automatically send MQTT messages when something happens on your website. “MQTT is a machine-to-machine (M2M)/”Internet of Things” connectivity protocol. It was designed as an extremely lightweight publish/subscribe messaging transport.”

Hello Trumpy

This is not a plugin, it symbolizes the hopes, failures, celebrations and lamentations of an entire global population. Our world is forever changed by the 2016 election of Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States of America. Whether in a good or bad way, is yet to be seen. But it is a pivotal time in History, regardless. It is my hope that this plugin will make WordPress great again!
