This fun little plugin could help you if like me you are a Boy Scout leader. What does it do well its simple enough you simply ad the plugin to your site and enter a short code with the text you want and it displays it as Morse Code this could be used to help your kids learn a lost art.

The Lowdown:

If you've ever had issues with your media library when doing a theme upgrade or for some other random reason this plugin may help you get it all back on track.

It is useful when:

  • Really old database is used and there are a lot of problems with Media Library found
  • New thumbnail sizes are registered
  • Some thumbnail sizes are not used anymore (theme change, upgrade), but image files are still exists
  • There are Media Library entries present pointing to image files that don’t exist anymore
  • Some entries in Media Library are not displayed, while image files are present (_wp_attachment_metadata meta field corrupted)
  • There are a lot of images in wp-content/uploads folder that are no longer used
  • There are duplicate attachments pointing to the same image file
  • Images are used by website, but you can’t find them in Media Library
  • You want to update attachments GUID fields containing old/staging urls
  • Detects major database corruptions affecting media library functionality

ClassicPress Options

Since the release of Gutenberg, and its fallout, ClassicPress has garnered a lot of attention. This is a fork of WordPress and is focused on Business Websites and is looking pretty good. It does seem in the past few months ClassicPress is coming into its own a bit and with some plugins now being created specifically for ClassicPress I do believe it has a future.

One thing I am looking forward to in the ClassicPress World is the expansion of the number of ClassicPress specific plugins and their own repository. Currently there are not a lot of ClassicPress specific plugins but I do know it is going to grow and I'll have to expand this segment then. Who knows, it could take over the whole show.

This week for ClassicPress I have:

News:

An interesting article by CodePotent testing the speed of WordPress vs ClassicPress

Closing out this Episode the Plugins I covered were:
